Lottery Number Frequency Data
Discover the most common lottery numbers based on historical drawing results. Explore frequently drawn numbers by lottery game and state, with detailed frequency statistics for Powerball, Mega Millions, and other lotteries.
Historical frequency is descriptive, not predictive. A number appearing more often in past drawings does not make it more likely to appear in the next drawing.
Live leaderboards
Frequency leaders are only comparable inside a shared drawing format, so these boards rank every tracked game in a format as one dataset — lotto draws, daily digit games, Cash Pop, and keno. Every board covers 2026 drawings year to date and refreshes automatically as new results land.

Draws = total appearances across every game in the format since January 1. Frequency % = share of that format's drawings in which the number appeared. Trend compares each number's appearance rate in the most recent half of the year with the older half.

Every lottery game draws from its own number pool, so frequency statistics never transfer between games. These boards count every 2026 drawing archived for each game — and, for state-run digit games, every tracked state's 2026 drawings of that family combined.

Recent-window frequency
Hot numbers are numbers that have appeared frequently within a selected historical window, such as the last 60 or 90 days. Where "most common" describes a game's entire archived history, hot numbers describe a chosen slice of recent activity inside a single game.
Explore hot and cold numbers for individual lottery games, including Powerball, Mega Millions, state Fantasy 5 games, Pick 3, Pick 4, and more. As with every statistic on this page, hot streaks are descriptions of past drawings — not signals about future ones.
State game reports include hot, cold, and overdue views inside each state analysis directory.
The other end of the range
Cold numbers are numbers that have appeared less frequently than their peers within a selected historical window. In a fair game, gaps like these are ordinary statistical variation rather than a pattern worth chasing.
A cold number is not "due." Its probability in the next drawing is identical to every other number in the pool, no matter how long it has been absent. Each game's analysis page pairs its cold numbers with overdue tracking so you can read both views together.
Methodology
Lottery Valley treats number frequency as a descriptive statistic. Here is exactly how the rankings on this page are produced.
A number is considered more common when it has appeared in more of a game's archived drawings than the other numbers in its pool. For each leaderboard we count every appearance of every main number across the game's drawing history, sort the totals from highest to lowest, and break ties by the lower number so rankings stay stable between updates.
Historical frequency does not change the mathematical probability of a future independent drawing. In a properly conducted lottery every allowed combination is equally likely on every draw, whether or not it appeared recently. Frequency data answers "what has happened," never "what will happen."
Combining unrelated games would produce a mathematically meaningless ranking. Games differ in number pool size, draw format, how often they draw, and how far back their records reach — a number leading a 5/69 jackpot game and a digit leading a 0–9 pick game have nothing comparable to say to each other. Every ranking here stays within a single game or a single shared drawing format, and state-run formats stay inside their own states.
Every leaderboard on this page counts only 2026 drawings — January 1 through the latest archived result — so all boards describe the current playing year, and each table states its drawing count and data-through date. Full-history and multi-year windows remain available on each game's analysis page. Frequency % is the share of drawings in which the number appeared — for games that draw several main numbers per drawing, that denominator is the number of eligible drawings, not the number of balls drawn.
When a game changes its matrix — for example a larger number pool — old and new eras are not directly comparable, so detailed game reports expose selectable historical windows instead of blending them silently. Bonus balls and special balls are always tallied separately from main numbers.
New drawings flow into the archive as official results are published, and the leaderboards, draw counts, percentages, and data-through dates above regenerate automatically from that dataset. Prose on this page is deliberately kept static so that only genuine data changes drive updates.
Our dataset
Everything on this page is generated from Lottery Valley's own normalized drawing archive. The figures below are measured from the live dataset rather than hard-coded.
224 tracked lottery games across 47 U.S. jurisdictions, plus multi-state games. Game-specific data is always separated so rankings never mix number pools.
355K historical drawing records are represented in the archive. Results are refreshed daily, and this page's leaderboards regenerate automatically whenever new drawings land — currently through August 25, 2026.
Drawing results are collected from official lottery sources and/or verified historical drawing records, then normalized into a single archive. Reporter-ready charts and source citations are available in the Lottery Data Library.
How frequency rankings work, what hot and cold mean, and how often the data refreshes.
It depends on the game. Every lottery draws from its own number pool, so the most common numbers are calculated within a single game's drawing history rather than across all lotteries. This page publishes all-time frequency leaderboards for major multi-state games and directs you to game-specific statistics for everything else.
There is no universal ranking that applies to every lottery. A number that leads one game's history can sit mid-table in another because each game uses a different number pool, draw schedule, and historical record. Rankings are only meaningful inside one game.
No. Historical frequency does not increase the mathematical probability of a future independent drawing. Every properly conducted draw has the same odds regardless of what appeared in past drawings. Frequency statistics are descriptive, not predictive.
For each game we count how many times each main number appears across its archived drawings, rank the counts from highest to lowest (ties broken by the lower number), and report each number's draws along with the share of drawings in which it appeared. The leaderboards on this page count only the current year's drawings, aggregated across every tracked game where a format allows it; each game's full-history ranking lives on its own analysis page.
Hot numbers are numbers that have appeared frequently within a selected recent window, such as the last 60 or 90 days. They describe recent activity in one game's history. Like all frequency statistics, they do not predict future draws.
Cold numbers are numbers that have appeared less frequently than expected within a selected recent window. A cold number is not 'due' to appear — its odds are unchanged by the gap since it was last drawn.
The leaderboards refresh as new drawing results enter the Lottery Valley archive, which currently happens daily. Draw counts, frequency percentages, and the data-through date all update automatically; no manual edits are required.
